Dr. Shari R. Cohen enjoys being a pediatrician at Valley Pediatrics, where she was a patient when she was little. Dr. Cohen was one of the first patients of Dr. Larrie Blue (1930-2008) at Valley Pediatrics. As her doctor, Dr. Blue showed Dr. Cohen how important it is to have a relationship of trust between a doctor and the family, and inspired her to become a pediatrician. Today, she enjoys watching her patients grow from babies to adults, some of whom return to Valley Pediatrics with kids of their own.
Dr. Cohen graduated in 1986 from Brandeis University with a B.A. in Biology. She received her Medical Degree in 1990 from the University of Maryland, School of Medicine. She completed her Pediatric Residency in 1993 at the University of Maryland Hospital. She was an Attending Emergency Room Physician at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore where she continued to work for several years after joining Valley Pediatrics in 1996. She is a Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Cohen enjoys reading and volunteering at her children’s school. She also enjoys watching sporting events with her husband Phil, particularly those of their three children, Josh, Rebecca and Gabriella.
