We use input from parents, teachers, school reports, any psychological testing that has been performed and in-person evaluation. This comprehensive assessment needs a separate appointment is not done at the time of a check up. 

We also continue to treat your child after the initial diagnosis has been made.

We recommend ear piercing occur after 6 months old. Waiting until children are 6 months old ensures that they have had their first set of vaccines and allows the ear to grow big enough to allow for accurate placing of the earing. We want to make sure that this elective procedure carries as little risk to your child as possible. 

Immunizations are one of the most important public health measures in human history. Only indoor plumbing even comes close! Childhood vaccinations save 4 million deaths worldwide each year.

Breastfeeding provides essential nutrition for infants birth to one year and older. As with learning anything new, most breastfeeding mothers and babies (and dads too!) need some instruction and support during this learning period.

Our Lactation Consultant can help you make a good start and help with bumps along the way.

Children may experience a range of medical conditions that could benefit from the expertise of a pediatric specialist in a particular field. We are lucky to live in an area with so many pediatric specialists nearby, but that can be confusing. We can help you to find the most appropriate specialist and coordinate with those specialist involved in a child's treatment. 

The patient portal allows you to request refills of your childs chronic medications 24/7. You can also call the office, but using the portal is often quicker. 

Make sure to indicate the medicine, dose, and the preferred pharmacy. 

Regular physicals are an important part of preventative pediatric care. We fill out sports forms as long as your child is up to date on check ups.
